The state of Washington’s Department of Transportation has a message for Pokemon Go players: don’t play while behind the wheel.
The message was delivered via Twitter. Pokemon Go’s main focus is catching Pokemon in the real world. It’s very notification heavy, with one popping up whenever a Pokemon is nearby while the player is out performing his daily routine. This is potentially distracting, which is dangerous for drivers.
If your weekend includes looking for #Eevee on #PokemonGO, please do so safely. No Pokemoning from behind the wheel. pic.twitter.com/Kt9CmTOKiP

This is true for any app, though, but the argument can be made that games like this have a big addiction factor. There were recent issues with the police and with people being shot at while playing Pokemon Go, so maybe Washington is just being cautious. Then again, they could also be simply commenting on a popular trend.
