Nvidia launched an experimental version of GameWorks earlier this year. The company is now set out to fully integrate the technology in newer engine such as Unreal Engine 4.0. DirectX 12 based simulation of GameWorks Flow technology was showcased in a video with real-time smoke and fire simulation.
This advanced piece of technology is a “computational fluid dynamics algorithm that simulates and renders combustible fluids such as fire and smoke.”
The video below is a DirectX 12 simulation showcasing combustion and smoke, the fluidity of this demo truly brings out the technology’s potential; we can’t wait the implementation of this technology in games.
