Developer Psyonix has announced that it’s making some changes to the Rocket League competitive ranks. Mainly, they’re lowering skill tier thresholds so that more players can be included in the top tiers, Star and Champion, which were too exclusive up to this point, with most players being ranked at the average skill level. The thresholds will also change depending on the mode that’s being played – Doubles and Solo, for example, have different criteria for reaching Champion.
These changes should make the game more balanced, which is nice since the game’s competitive scene is still going strong over a year after the game’s original release. There is even a Rocket League Championship happening right now.
