Some of the major development plans for the massive PC-Only Game Star Citizen have been laid out – creator Chris Roberts announced the Star Citizen Alpha 3.0 of the space-faring video game which is said to bring “giant jump in gameplay potential”, he also said that this is the most massive project he has ever undertaken.
The game is based on Amazon’s Lumberyard Engine, this is the first time we’re going to be seeing the implementation of the engine in such an ambitious and large-scale project.
Roberts said when talking about the game’s scale and the massive leap in the game with the latest Alpha 3.0 update.
In the same way that Large World and Physics Grids created new possibilities in gameplay by allowing players to go from walking around a space station to boarding a ship, flying it hundreds of thousands of kilometers, exiting their pilot seat, walking to an airlock, opening it and EVAing over to a derelict station, all from the same point of view, the Planetary Tech takes it one massive leap further.
While this game was a Kickstarter project, Star Citizen has gained tremendous popularity in the past and a new wave of hype has grown for the game. The release date for the Star Citizen Alpha 3.0 is set to be June 29th; so it’s time to get your space-face ready and go on an intergalactic adventure.
