Mods are a very important part of Bethesda’s games. Fallout 4 mods have been available for a while now on both PC and Xbox One. They were supposed to become available for PS4 in June, but that didn’t happen.
Bethesda had hinted in the past that it was a problem on Sony’s end, and now that much is confirmed.
“After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim: Special Edition,” Bethesda posted on its website.
The Fallout 4 developers said they are just as disappointed as the fans about this reality. Until Sony starts believing in the model and offers proper mod support, neither Fallout 4 nor Skyrim or any other Bethesda title, for that matter.
