In almost every game based on World War 2, the Axis perspective which included Japan, Germany and Italy is always antagonized. I find it incredibly interesting to play a game in which the German side is also showed off among other countries.
While Call of Duty: WW2 is a multi-million dollar game, there will be a focus on the allies yet again, without a look into the Axis powers. It would kind of be a creepy play through but would be incredible interesting nonetheless.
But, for various reasons, that isn’t possible. The Axis powers represented the worst of the men at that time. Though, not among their own ranks but to the rest of the world. It would be extremely distasteful and awkward to fight to defend Hitler, and I believe that is unacceptable.
We know Sledgehammer games did mention that Call of Duty: WW2 will have a different and unique perspective of World War 2; but, they didn’t mean playing as the Axis forces. But instead, a focus on the actual problems of the time, “things like racism, religious persecution, and sexism”
Replying to Mojo Taez’s question about the campaign and Axis powers, Michael Condrey -Sledgehammer co-founder- said that the Axis power is a “ferocious enemy” and will not be a playable part of the campaign.
You'll fight and follow the Allied cause. The Axis power is a ferocious enemy. But no, you won't play as Axis in campaign.

While this isn’t surprising at all, and kind of expected, it would’ve definitely been a great revival for the series to feature two sides of the story.
Call of Duty: WW2 has been incredibly hyped up and we may yet see some amazing surprises down the developers’ sleeves. While there isn’t a chance to play as a German soldier, we might yet see the true face of the war through the eyes of the segregated troops.
