Evolve Hits 1 Million Players, 2K Gives Prizes

Evolve’s switch to the free-to-play model keeps proving to be a success, as the total player count has risen to 1 million in less than a week since the so-called “Stage 2” of Evolve, the free-to-play version, was made available.

Publisher 2K is giving away a free skin to celebrate. Players who login between right now and Monday, July 18 will receive the Blood Eager Hunter Skin free of charge at the end of the time period (at precisely 10am PST on July 18). Evolve Stage 2 released just one week ago, completely replacing the old, paid version of the game, and the move has been a success for the development studio and 2K both financially and in player popularity and general opinion of the game.
