Developer Turtle Rock’s decision to make the online Shooter Evolve free-to-play earlier this week seems to have paid off popularity-wise.
Steam’s most popular games list shows Evolve on the number 17 spot, while before it was far from cracking the top 20. The game hit 25.167 active players on July 8th which is a peak for it. However, it’s still far from the most popular games like DoTA 2 and Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO).
Evolve: Stage 2 is absolutely free to download, and all its content can be accessed by just playing the game. There are no microtransaction options as of yet, but they’ll probably be made available soon for players that prefer to pay to unlock stuff.
