In Far Cry Primal, there is a wide diversity of species encompassing various animals and birds. But only 17 of these creatures can be tamed. Out of these 17 creatures, once you complete the Beast Master Quest, you can acquire 3 of them . Rare animals in Far Cry Primal usually leave a scent which can be then trailed to its den while the normal animals can be tamed.

A map is shown displaying the animals and the locations but not the exact spot. Before starting, the player must have fully mastered their Beast Master skills to be able to hunt the advanced animals. For taming, the player must use the hunter vision and then use the bait to tame them.
