God of War Ragnarok – Saving the Breathtaking and Mythical Realms

God of War Ragnarok, the sequel to God of War, is among the most anticipated games of 2022. It will be exclusive to PS5 and PS4. The previous game was one of the most praised of the past generation. That creates an expectation for a worthy successor. We are expecting the Kratos’ and Atreus’ journey to the breathtaking and mythical realms to save them will stand up to our expectations.

God of War Ragnarok Release Date

Announced in September 2020, the successor to God of War has expected in 2022, but there is no exact date set yet or even a less comprehensive window. Initially, the debut forecast was 2021. However, the project ended up being postponed.

There is no official synopsis for the continuation of God of War, but the game should continue the events presented in the 2018 game. After all, the period between the original trilogy and the reboot is already being covered in a comic book.

God of War Ragnarok Story

In September 2021, the first official trailer for God of War: Ragnarok released. The preview starts with Atreus telling Kratos that time is running out because Ragnarok is coming. The protagonist’s son says he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life hiding in the bush. He wants to find out who he really is. Who Loki is.

Worried, Kratos says he won’t allow his son to start fighting gods—after all, he knows very well how difficult this task can be. The boy retorts saying he doesn’t want to fight any entity. He only wants answers.

The answers, however, as reported by Kratos himself, could lead to war against Asgard. Atreus says that maybe that was what his mother wanted. Kratos, however, is very angry and reinforces that the boy does not know what his mother wanted.

Apparently, Atreus will insist until Kratos agrees to seek out Tyr, a Norse mythological figure who would be on their side, the god of combat in Scandinavian tales. Atreus’ idea is to stop Ragnarok at any cost, even if it leads to war.

In the last scene of the preview, we see Angerboda, Loki’s first wife. In the game, she appears to be about the same age as Atreus. The fates of these two characters are certainly intertwined — it remains to be seen whether or not the original story will follow.

God of War Ragnarok Gameplay

Some of Kratos and Atreus’ enemies have already been revealed in this first preview. First, a warrior appears who attacks them in the middle of the snow-filled forest (none less than Freya, who wants to avenge Baldur’s death). After this encounter, the primary duo appears driving a sled, something that should also be present in the final game.

Thor also intends to avenge his half-brother’s death, which is the main reason he goes against Kratos and Atreus. According to Grace Orlady, Freya and Thor will be two of the game’s main antagonists.

Other minor opponents include centaurs, a giant salamander, warriors with unique abilities, humanoid creatures with amphibious characteristics, and green-skinned warriors with glowing eyes.

Kratos, it seems, will be able to use both the Blades of Chaos and the Leviathan Axe. He will also have access to a shield that he can use to hit the ground and deal area damage. Atreus, meanwhile, can be seen riding a kind of spectral moose that will target enemies.
