Man Killed at Gunpoint While Playing Pokemon GO

Calvin Riley, a 20-year-old from San Francisco, was shot in the chest in the tourist area of Aquatic Park, near Ghirardelli Square. He was there playing Pokemon GO; as a popular public area, it’s natural there are Pokestops there. Authorities found him after receiving a call and gave him first aid, but he didn’t make it.

The shooter’s identity and motive are still unclear. The family set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses, and they claim there that he was the victim of a random shooting. The page raised 41,000 of its 45,000 goal. They will undoubtedly make it.

Just yesterday we reported another terrible Pokemon GO incident. While this one has nothing to do with the game, we urge our readers to be very careful while playing in public places.
