As shared by the Reddit user velocityseven, someone in Japan connected his brand new PlayStation VR to the Xbox One and PC and found out the device is compatible… kind of. You can connect the virtual reality headset to these systems via HDMI, and they’ll be displayed in the PSVR’s Cinematic Mode. For instance, if you plug it into the Xbox One, the Xbox One dashboard will appear in cinematic mode.
But that’s all you can do – you can see these screens up close, but you can’t actually use all the other virtual reality features like head tracking or 360-degree sounds on any other device that isn’t the PS4. Still, it’s a pretty neat discovery.
The PlayStation VR launched last Thursday and is expected to sell 2 million units in 2016.
