Here we are with yet another Pokemon GO guide. Let’s find out how to become gym leader and claim gym in the game. Pokemon GO lets you catch Pokemons, battle them and more. But what’s even better is you can claim your own Pokemon Gym. The Pokemon Gyms are claimed by the trainers based on the Gym’s Prestige level and are assigned to protect the Gym. Each Pokemon Gym has a Gym Leader who owns a Crown and the highest Combat Point (CP) Pokemon. Let’s see how you can train and become a Gym Leader yourself.
Pokemon GO – How to Become Gym Leader
The player must be at least level 5 to join the Red, Yellow or Blue Team. Also make sure, your Pokemon has enough CP to challenge the Gyms or train at one of your team’s Gym. To take over a Gym, you must defeat the Gym trainers and deplete its Prestige.
First, look for a nearby Gym and touch at the top of the screen to find Gym Name, Gym Level and Gym Occupants. Touch the Crown to see who the Leader is. The level of difficulty of the Battle can determined by looking at the Gym Leader’s Level.
The trainer with the lowest CP is first one you have to encounter. Once you defeat all the trainers of a gym, the Prestige level goes down to 0. Then the Gym will turn into gray and that means it is available for the player to Claim.
How to Become a Claim the Gym
After you defeat all the trainers, follow the steps below to claim it:
- Go to the gray-colored Gym
- Touch the Gym and enter it
- Touch the Add Pokemon option from the bottom of the screen
- Choose a Pokemon to add to the Gym
