Sony provided more details on a post in the Playstation Blog this Monday about the PS4 4.00 Update, codenamed Shingen. It’s a big update that includes many software improvements.
First off, the user interface is getting revamped to become “more refined and easier to use”. Sony specifies new system backgrounds and a “What’s New” section. The Quick and Share Menus will also see substantial changes. The biggest one is arguably longer Twitter videos: the PS4 Share function only allowed 10-second videos, but now they can be up to 140 seconds long.
There are also “pretty big changes” coming to the PS4 Library and you can finally see your Trophies offline.
The PS4 4.00 Update Beta begins early August and gamers who want to sign up for it can do so here.
