Developer Rockstar games announced earlier this week that their Xbox 360 western hit Red Dead Redemption would become backwards compatible on Xbox One starting this Friday. The game would also be discounted on the Xbox One online store.
The game was critically acclaimed and sold very well when it released in 2010, but apparently there is demand because Amazon’s Movers and Shakers list, which details products that have seen an increase in sales recently, lists a 6329% increase in Red Dead Redemption sales starting Tuesday. Red Dead Redemption went from being the 1093th most popular game on the site to the 17th.
Starting July 8th, players will be able to play their Xbox 360 copies on their Xbox Ones. Additionally, most DLC for the game is currently free on Xbox One.
