Xbox Boss Feels Very Confident About the Xbox Scorpio

The head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, attended a day-long meeting yesterday all about the Xbox Scorpio, Microsoft’s upgraded 4K-enabled system that aims to be more powerful than Sony’s PS4 Pro.

Spencer is confident the system will release in the fall of 2017. He said the team made “amazing progress and we are feeling good about the schedule”. His team is aiming for high-end performance, like what they showed at E3. He, indirectly, said the system will be competing with the PC: “[we want to] make sure that they’re targeting that performance for their games. Luckily so many of both our internal teams and partners are also building on PC”. He also assured the system will run games at native 4K and will support a 4K frame buffer.
