The PS4 Pro, the console upgrade that adds 4K and HDR to Sony’s next-gen experience, released last week to much acclaim. Microsoft also has an upgraded 4K-enabled system in the works, the Xbox Scorpio, but it won’t come out until sometime in 2017. This means it’s time for the house of Xbox to fire shots at Sony – and that’s exactly what head of Xbox Games Aaron Greenberg did today.
He said Microsoft’s upcoming system will have “really true 4K, really incredible visual games that we’ve never seen before on any console”. This, of course, insinuates that the PS4 Pro doesn’t offer “really true 4K” and that the Xbox Scorpio will.
Only time will tell if these comments hold any weight. What’s more significant than the comments themselves is how fast Microsoft is responding to the PS4 Pro. The house of Xbox may be worried Sony steals the console race from them.
