Anyone who purchased an Nvidia GTX 970 who lives in the United States is eligible for a $30 payout from the technology company, thanks to a possible settlement in a class-action lawsuit.
Last year, Nvidia was the victim of lawsuits filed for false advertising; the main problem being that the Nvidia GTX 970 was claimed to have 4GB of RAM and that’s not entirely true. It was proven after its release in 2014 that games could not, in fact, use more than 3.5GB without running into performance issues.
Nvidia won’t admit liability, but is willing to pay $30 for each 970 purchased in the US to anyone who submits a valid claim.
