Sonic the Hedgehog is going back to its roots full-force with Sonic Mania, a game that brings back gameplay and stages from the original Sonic the Hedgehog trilogy from the Sega Genesis days.

This game celebrates Sonic’s 25th anniversary by bringing him back to his most successful days in the 90s. The game is developed by Sega of America alongside PagodaWest Games. Christian Whitehead and Simon Thomley.

Sonic Mania releases spring 2017 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Let’s just hope SEGA finally gets the Genesis physics right for once. Check out the reveal trailer:
