Sony announced the PS4 Pro this week and was greeted with excitement by gamers and publishers. It upgrades the PS4 to support features like 4K and HDR, but we didn’t know how existing games were going to handle those upgrades. This Friday Sony Interactive Entertainment executive Masayasu Ito has confirmed that this will go on a game-by-game basis and that some of them won’t be free.
“It will be different for each title,” said Ito regarding the pricing situation. “I believe it will depend on the thinking of each licensee.” He also specifically said that some titles’ patches will be free, and some won’t.
The PS4 Pro launches November 10 for $399.4K and HDR and some of its biggest graphical upgrades.
