Overwatch Update Adds "High Bandwidth" Mode on PC

Overwatch Update Adds “High Bandwidth” Mode on PC

Blizzard has released an Overwatch update which adds a “high bandwidth” mode on the PC version of the game, hoping to improve the multiplayer experience on that system. What the update actually does is a bit technical, but lead engineer Tim Ford and senior engineer Philip Orwig try to sum it up as briefly as possible.

“Ultimately the thing you need to keep in mind is that, if your connection isn’t keeping up, don’t worry about it, we’ll downgrade you appropriately and you’ll see the interpolation delay increase. Everything is going to work out perfectly fine on that front,” assures Orwig.

The core idea behind this Overwatch update is different Internet connections will be able to play smoothly without interferences. This new feature is already live on PC but is still being rolled out in some regions. Blizzard is “investigating how they can roll this out on consoles”
