Battlefield vs Call of Duty is a classic dispute like Sonic vs. Mario once was, or Coca-Cola vs Pepsi. This kind of rivalry isn’t usually condoned by the brands involved, but that is not the case with EA Global Publishing Boss Laura Miele.
“I think it’s just a fan competition and I think our fans and our players love to play it up. That’s the nature of our industry as the entertainment category that we’re in”, she stated and emphasized: “I welcome the competitive challenge”.
EA is apparently feeling confident about its place in the online first-person shooter world. It would make sense considering the fan reaction to Battlefield 1 was significantly positive. Miele described the fan response as “incredibly gratifying”.
