Microsoft released Skype Preview Update for Windows 10 PC and mobile users. This new update adds texting support to the Windows Insider Program users.
Using Skype’s new texting feature, users can communicate via SMS and MMS from Windows 10 PC and phone. You will be able to view the messages coming and reply to them using your PC. Apart from these, Skype conversations will also include sharing of photos and having group chats.
Get the latest version from the Windows Store and then follow the steps given below to start using the latest texting feature.
For Windows PC
Launch Skype Preview.
Then go to settings.
Now choose Enable Skype on this device to sync my SMS messages.
For Windows phone
Launch Skype Preview.
Then navigate to settings.
Then select Make Skype your default messaging app.
Venturebeat reports that the new Skype texting feature is available as preview version at present and is expected to reach more users in couple of months. However, no release date has been announced for the final version.
