Via a brand new Yooka-Laylee trailer that was featured at the EGX 2016 event in London, developer Playtonic Games made a special announcement – Shovel Knight will make a guest appearance in the game. He is indeed fully rendered in 3D and looks as awesome as you might expect. Check him out at the end of the trailer:
After a delay earlier this year, Yooka-Laylee is now aiming for an early 2017 release. This is a 3D platformer like the ones from the late 90s and early 00s, results of a trend started by Super Mario 64. This is made by former Rare employees that worked on Banjo-Kazooie and the game is very much a spiritual reboot of that N64 classic.
