Bethesda has started the week with some important news regarding the remastered version of The Elder Scrolls V, titled Skyrim: Special Edition. The game has gone gold, meaning it finished development. The developer also shared the System Requirements you need to play the game on PC.
It’s not too demanding – it requires a powerful machine, but not the most high-end one in the market. Makes sense since the original Skyrim came out back in 2011. You also need 12 GB of free space for the install. Here are the full specs:
Minimum Specs
- OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit)
- CPU: Intel i5-750/AMD Phenom II X4-945
- RAM: 8 GB
- HDD: 12 GB free space
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 470 1 GB/AMD HD 7870 2 GB

Bethesda also shared the file size on consoles. On Xbox One, the game requires 20GB in North America and 33GB in Europe. As far as PS4, it’s a 17GB install in North America and a 25GB one in Europe. The game takes more space in Europe because it has to include plenty of languages.
Skyrim: Special Edition releases October 28 on all systems.
