For Xbox One owners, here is a good news. As per the tweet below, VLC media player has been submitted to Xbox One app store. So now you would get better experience while media streaming on Xbox One.
This has been made possible as a result of Microsoft’s new universal platform. VLC media player has been submitted to the Xbox One’s UWP app storefront. If it gets approved, Xbox One users will be getting a lot of benefits.
#VLC for #XboxOne has been submitted to the store, hopefully it will land in your living rooms in a few days!

At present, we have Plex app for streaming media in Xbox One. If VLC is approved then users will get to enjoy the benefits of UPnP network share browsing, HTTPS streaming and a large number of codecs for a variety of media file formats.
