Iran is officially the first nation to get Pokemon GO banned for “security concerns” which were not further specified. It probably has to do with the public safety issues the game presents, such as accidents related to the game and people using the “Lure” function for illegal intent.
Pokemon GO is a dangerous game in itself, but on Iran, it’s even more so because its augmented reality nature means gamers will have to go to dangerous locations of which there are many on this country, such as military bases and local communities that get flooded with Pokemon GO players.
The local government has contacted developer Niantic Labs to see if they can work together on a compromise.
